Catching up, part two - Clare + Tom

OK, there's some time travel happening here on the blog over the next few days. We're going BACK IN TIME. To the start of the summer to be precise, and to a series dedicated to some of the weddings I've shot this year.

First up, Clare and Tom. After the bride and bridesmaids had crammed into the couple's flat in Stoke Newington to get ready, the couple wed at St Patrick's Catholic Church in Soho Square. They were married by Clare's uncle who travelled all the way from Florida to perform the service.
I love the excitement of the getting-ready portion of the day.
The bride's dress was a gorgeous forties-style beaded sheath gown.
Waiting to be fashioned into corsages.
I grabbed a portrait of each of the eight beautiful bridesmaids.
The groom, ready and awaiting his bride.
The best men doing a good job of keeping the groom relaxed.
What's the collective noun for a group of bridesmaids?
 That all important entrance...
Such a stately church - just check out that marble!
 The mother of the bride.
Clare checks that bridesmaid Charlotte (below) is ready to sing.
She sounded as angelic as she looked.
On leaving the church, Clare had arranged a surprise visit from the Hackney Colliery Band!
 That's a big ...tuba...?
On leaving Soho, the bridal party headed down to Trinity Buoy Wharf, a brilliantly blank space which had been transformed into a tropical party paradise...
The sun smiled down on us.
Home-made centrepieces.
DJ duo The Nextmen (above) preparing for a later set, while the caterers (below) put the final touches on a lovely dinner.
Bride, groom, and bride's family get the benefit of a sun flare (I love 'em!)
That's what we like to see, a bit of equality!
Clare and Tom just wanted some strong, simple bride and groom portraits.
The famous Fat Boy's Diner provided the perfectly kooky backdrop.

And so I headed off into the sunset, leaving the bride and groom to party the night away.
